A program for translating words and phrases between multiple languages.

4.0 (See all)

This program was created for Mac users who are looking for a simple and quick way to translate words and phrases between various languages. It's very simple to use, provides you with accurate translations, and supports a wide variety of source and target languages.

The main window of the application is divided into 2 panels: the one from the left side of the screen contains the translation settings and the one from the right is for entering the text content and checking the results.

I tested the utility using different source and target languages and including punctuation marks in the text content. The app offered me accurate results within moments. A good aspect is that you can mark translation sessions as Favorites if you need to review them later.

But the best thing about this program is got to be the ability to integrate it into the Notification Center app which is located on the right side of your desktop. You need to click over the Notification Center icon from your Menu Bar to reveal the Swipe Translate window. There, you will be able to translate words and phrases, eliminating the need to launch the Swipe Translate app on your Mac.

My only issue with this utility is: it doesn't provide you with the audio pronunciation for the translated content. Hence, doesn't offer text-to-speech feature.

Still, you should try this application on your Mac if the aforementioned aspect doesn't mean much to you. It's a great alternative to using online services or other translation utilities as it doesn't need to be launched on your computer in order to get the information you need.
