Sweet Home 3D is a interior design utility that allows users to create 2D house plans while having the possibility to view the result in 3D.
The application has a user-friendly interface, with most actions being intuitive to perform. Drawing the house plan can be done with precision, as dimensions are displayed in the process (length, angle and thickness are displayed for walls). They can also be set from the "modify" window. When finished with drawing an area, dimensions can also be calculated between various points of choice and marked on the sketch. Sketches can be made for houses with several levels. A 3D view of the house plan is available aside from the 2D drawn one and a house tour video in 3D can also be created. Where furniture and utilities are concerned, the library includes several items, however a single model is available for most of these items. This may be considered to be a downside to the utility, however furniture and also texture libraries can be imported. Fine positioning of furniture items and modifications to their size, color, texture and shininess can be done.
Sweet Home 3D is a useful application for drawing home plans and experimenting with interior design options, offering users the chance to be precise and also to play with decoration ideas while working.

This program is very easy to handle. You can quickly make a plan of furniture placing in your flat.
The given set of furniture was enough for me to illustrate where each object will be placed in my future flat. Besides, the program is definitely helpful when you are moving to a new flat or building a house. Even if you are not a professional designer, you can visualize your ideas and discuss them with the designers later.
Found it useful when I was moving furniture around the house. The plan in 3D allows you to see how your room will look like with chairs, shelves, etc. and to think of possible changes before you've began moving your real wardrobe. Yet I found it rather uncomfortable to have a narrow set of furniture available to operate with.
