Space Drop is intended to increase your productivity by providing a more convenient way to drag and drop files or folders to another location. The program solves this by creating a temporary space onto which you can drag the desired elements. Then, they become more readily accessible until you decide where to put them. Luckily, the tool supports all types of files.

The program´s interface is made of just the drop window and that of the settings. Perhaps you would need to consult the help document to know exactly what the tool is about or how to use it. To store any element in the temporary space, besides using the drop window, it supports dragging the elements to the menu bar icon or the dock icon as well. It is good that you can add various files in a single operation and the program can even create a more manageable group containing them.

Although the tool works fine with the default settings, you may want to change a few things. In this regard, it is possible to change drop window’s color, position and opacity, to make it less obtrusive. Likewise, you can even set a hotkey combination to hide or show the Space Drop window. Another useful feature is QuickLook, which lets you preview the files in the temporary space.

In short, even though Space Drop is not what I would call a great utility, it does contribute to increasing your productivity. Still, I would understand that some users prefer to continue dragging and dropping files and folders the old way. It is just a matter of preference. Finally, if you were hoping that a product like this one would be free, well, it is not. Yet, its price is not too high.
