SimpleMovieX is a simple and lightweight video editor. With it, you can load your movie files and trim them, crop them and export them into various formats. The application allows you to navigate the video in many different ways, which help you decide exactly where you want to trim it. For example, there is a feature called "Chapters" that seems to be able to detect changes in the video. The developers say this feature is great to get rid of commercials in your videos. Apparently, the application will detect the commercials, and you can easily get rid of them by trimming them out, using the scissors button at the bottom of the screen. I like the possibility to use the mouse wheel to navigate the video backwards and forward almost frame per frame. Then you can simply set markers to trim your video.
There is an expandable pane that appears on the right part of the window that displays the different parts of the video in snapshots, lets you access the "Chapters" feature and shows all the hotkeys that you can use with the application.
SimpleMovieX has a trial version that is fully-featured and can be used freely with no time limitations. However, it will display a "Trial" banner on the top-right corner of the screen.
This program offers you medical information and human body illustrations.
MovieChapterizer provides an easy way to add chapter names into movies you can view with QuickTime Player.
