SerialMailer is intended to send email messages to large groups of people. Fortunately, it focuses on preserving the privacy of the recipients of your messages by sending individual messages instead of using a list of target contacts. This way, each reader feels like the message had been written specially for them.
The application keeps a local database with contact information, which is securer in terms of preventing data leaks if you compare it with storing it on the cloud. Good to know that the tool can import data from Contacts as well as from other sources like TXT, CSV and XLSX files. Moreover, as part of the process, the application can be set to avoid importing duplicate email addresses. Although there are some basic fields, such as email address, name and last name, you can add as many other fields as you need, and, luckily, they can even be set to contain personalized attachments.
In order to improve the look of your messages, there is a built-in editor that lets you use rich-text format as well as insert images, tables and lists. Likewise, it lets you personalized elements by pasting fields from the database. Thus, it is possible to use conditional fields in such a way that each recipient can get a special greeting or a different attachment. Good news is that you can create templates you can reuse to save precious time and effort.
There are some other advantages in using SerialMailer. For instance, it does not need creating a new email account. Instead, it works as a standard email client that connects via SMTP protocol. Regrettably, I could not find any way to configure IMAP to use MD5 Challenge-Response. Luckily, you can set the app not to send all your messages at the same time to avoid overflowing the capacities of your email server.
All in all, an application like SerialMailer is definitely a great help if you need to send email messages to long lists of contacts. Thus, it becomes ideal for making different types of campaigns. The product is shareware, which means it can be tried with certain restrictions for a limited period of time.
