Room Arranger is intended mainly for designing house and office interiors. In this respect, it can help you plan the location of the furniture in a room or try different colors.

The tool can look familiar to those with previous experience with other CAD tools. However, I must alert you that it may have a steep learning curve, which you can avoid a little by consulting the online help documentation.

It is good news that the application comes with lots of prebuilt objects, which definitely save a lot of work. In this respect, as part of familiarizing with the tool and its potential, it is a good idea to load some of the sample projects coming in the installation package. Luckily, the dimensions of every object can be accurately entered to meet your needs.

Similarly, there are templates for rooms, which you can modify later. Besides, you have the possibility to load scanned floor plans instead of starting from scratch. Fortunately, there is a really extensive library of elements you can add to your design. For instance, there are architectural elements, such as doors, stairs and windows. Besides, you can access lots of pieces of furniture conveniently arranged into categories, like cabinets, tables, chairs, bathrooms and kitchens. However, if they are not what you are looking for, it is possible to download more objects from online collections or even design your own furniture.

Although you work with a 2D plan all the time, the tool supports creating a 3D view of your project. Moreover, the view can be exported as interactive 3D scenes you can put on the Internet. Regrettably, the textures and shadows look poor and unrealistic compared with those created by other similar applications. Besides, unlike other apps, you cannot edit a room from its 3D representation.

All in all, Room Arranger may be a convenient tool if you need to know if your plans to change your furniture or put your sofa somewhere else could work in practice. However, I would not use it to present ideas to my client. Luckily, the product is available for trial so you can judge it by yourself.
