Remixlive allows not only adding live effects to music but also creating completely new compositions. The tool can import sound samples in a variety of formats, including WMA, WAV, AIFF, M4A, AAC, FLAC, Ogg and MP4. There is also the possibility to record sound directly from a microphone. Similarly, it allows exporting to WAV, AIFF, FLAC and OGG. What is more, the recordings can be readily shared on YouTube and SoundCloud.

The application has a simple-to-use interface, characterized by the use of a modular grid, which may be adapted to any configuration or MIDI controller and expanded to up to 10 columns and 10 rows. In this regard, this layout allows users to assign any command to their controller without much effort. The tool supports multiple play modes, for instance, Edit Play, Quantize, Gain, Pan, Loop Division, Reverse and Transpose. Luckily, there is even a Multiple mode that lets you play various pads simultaneously.

One of its most convenient features is that it lets you adjust the sound output using the special effects as well as the pad for repeating beats. Likewise, the tool allows live BPM as a means to change the rhythm of the recording without needing to pause it. The tool comes with three packs of free loops. Moreover, there are other three available at no cost. Should they be not enough, there are 13 additional loops available as in-app purchases.

Remixlive comes with a huge collection of special effects, which in the latest version has been expanded with others like Low Phaser, Flanges, Jet-Up, Metalizer, Infinite Delay, Big Bright Hall, Bliss, Reactor, Basic Slicer, Fast Gate, Freezer and Crush. It is equally excellent that it seamlessly integrates with multiple DAW tools, such as Ableton Live, Cubase and GarageBand.

All in all, Remixlive may not be as powerful as other similar applications out there. However, it is a good way to start with. Its modular grid, MIDI control, time-stretching algorithm and exclusive effects make it perfect for live performances. The product is shareware, which in this case means that it can be tried at no cost for a limited period of time. It is excellent that there are versions of this product for other platforms as well.
