Radio Silence is a firewall and network monitor tool for Mac.

Radio Silence is a helpful Mac utility that lets you prevent your applications from connecting to the Internet.

This program might prove to be of good use if you wish to work with a tool in an offline mode or want to save your bandwidth quota.

The main window of the application is divided into two panels: one for manually adding or removing blocked apps and another containing a list with all programs and services that are currently using network connections.

All you need to do in order to prevent a utility from accessing the Web is to drag-and-drop it over Radio Silence's interface and enable the block feature. Mac OS X provides you with similar options in its System Preferences panel but its solution is a bit time consuming (go to System Preferences -> Firewall -> Turn On Firewall -> Firewall Options).

Another important aspect is that you can monitor which services and apps are using network connections. With just one click, you can block their Internet access.

All in all, the program worked great and didn't slow down my Mac.

With that being said, Radio Silence proves to be a reliable firewall solution for your Mac. Plus, it comes with a fair price.

Paid for the app, was never sent the license. When purchasing there's a message stating it would be sent via email. I checked spam, but it never came in. No response to the email on the website. Don't waste your money.

I'm using this app for a long time, but I'm annoyed with the fact I can't hide the app & have it in the menu bar. Can the developers add this functionality?
