Radio Silence is a firewall app for Mac that lets you block specific applications from accessing the Internet.

This program proves to be of great use when you wish to intercept and end unauthorized connection attempts between your apps and the Internet.

The most important advantage of working with Radio Silence is the fact that it's very simple to use. Unlike other firewall applications that require multiple configurations, this program lets you prevent unwanted Internet traffic with just one click.

Another thing I like about using this app is that even when you close it, it remains active. For instance, if iTunes is within the processing list and you close Radio Silence, when you launch the iTunes app it fails to connect to the Internet.

If you wish to find out which applications connect to the Internet when launched, I recommend you to try Private Eye, a free program from the same developer. By doing so, you know exactly which apps you need to add to the Radio Silence's processing list and prevent any unauthorized Internet traffic.

To summarize, it's worth acquiring this program. Radio Silence is very simple to use, doesn't use a large amount of CPU resources, and works efficiently even when it's closed.

Pros

  • Intuitive interface
  • After you shut down the program, it remains active
  • You don't require experience in handling firewall apps in order to use Radio Silence

Cons

  • Couldn't find any disadvantages

Paid for the app, was never sent the license. When purchasing there's a message stating it would be sent via email. I checked spam, but it never came in. No response to the email on the website. Don't waste your money.

I'm using this app for a long time, but I'm annoyed with the fact I can't hide the app & have it in the menu bar. Can the developers add this functionality?
