Info updated on:

Process Monitor is intended for monitoring and identifying processes running on your computer. In this regard, the application can let you know about not only known but unknown processes as well. This gives you control over almost everything currently happening in your machine.

The tool has a user-friendly interface and provides you with multiple ways in which you can see the desired information. For instance, there are various tabs to compartmentalize data and make the application easier to navigate. In this respect, there is the Running Processes tab, which, in turn, lets you use filters to differentiate the processes initiated by windowed apps from those running in the background. Moreover, there is a tab devoted to showing info about your latest updates. Finally, it is also possible to switch to the Uninstalled Apps tab. The information appears in a tabular form, with such columns as Name, Group, Parent, Status, Description and Last Updated. Moreover, you can group processes by user, group and parent.

All in all, Processes Monitor is a useful little application you may want to install on your system to check on processes. Knowing about the processes helps you identify unauthorized activities and detect problems. Regrettably, I could not find a way to end or delete a process from within the tool. Likewise, it is not possible to check the impact of a specific process on performance (memory, network and CPU use, for instance). more
