PhotoRescue is a smart utility for managing data from memory cards. It comes with a modern look and all of the features and tools are available from the main interface.
What makes this tool different from other similar products is that it allows users to rebuild broken files, using advanced defragmenting technology. The customization of the interface is non-existent, but the tool gains points for high applicability and functionality. It runs on low resource consumption, so it will not burden one's Mac, and can be safely used simultaneously with other applications. Also, the utility provides users with quick testing and erasing tools for the memory cards. The testing of the card can be done in two modes: read-only and read/write modes. The erasing tool basically formats the memory card.
Briefly, PhotoRescue is a handy utility for testing and managing files from memory cards.
Pros
- High support for file types
- Easy-to-use menu
Cons
- None
This one is not that bad. It does everything the software of its kind should do, and so far I haven't noticed anything that could count as a bug. The interface is comprehensible and user-friendly (I would even say idiot-proof). The only thing that I cannot get is why the basic ("Wizard") version of this program costs 29 bucks. It's way too much for a modest photo recovery software. With such pricing these guys are destined to fold up.
