Stop Mac devices from switching to sleep mode during a period of inactivity. Block the screensaver from starting, disable the dim display feature, and resume normal operation of hardware components. Select the template for automated sleep mode activation prevention.
Owly was created by FIBLAB to help you prevent your Mac from going to the sleep mode. This application might come in handy whenever you wish to leave your computer to complete a certain task, like downloading a large file, without loading your default screensaver or facing the sleep mode after a certain amount of time.
The program lives on your Menu Bar from where you can change the way it operates. You can enable the sleep mode by blocking a feature for Eternity (rather funny how the developers came up with this profile name), 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, etc. There's also an option to immediately enable your default screensaver.
Another advantage is the fact that you can define a global hotkey to immediately activate Owly's sleep mode blocking. The program will also display the amount of time you have left until the sleep mode is activated.
Except for what I have already said, not much can be added about this program. It simply does what's being said on its homepage, without using many CPU resources in the process.
Hence, it's worth installing this application on your Mac if you're looking for a simple way to prevent your computer from going to the sleep mode. Plus, you don't have to pay a buck to use it.
