Memory Diag is a free utility that allows you to monitor, diagnose, and optimize the memory usage of your computer. This is a handy application that can be used to improve your system's performance. In this regard, it analyses your computer system and informs you about the potential system resource consumers.
By default, the program can be accessed from the top menu bar. However, you can change its position and place it in the Dock if you consider it to be more convenient for you. The app comes with other two themes besides the standard appearance, so that you can select the one that suits you best. The RAM memory information is displayed as a diagram, and it offers you details about the level of usage as a result of all your running processes. This way, you have the opportunity to find out why your computer is performing slowly and which programs take the largest share of the total memory. What's good about this program is that it provides system-related data in real time. In other words, the information is updated on the spot with each new task that you enable to run. Moreover, the utility offers details regarding the installed RAM memory modules.
The optimization process doesn't take long, and it is quite effective. It’s worth to have Memory Diag saved on your hard drive and to enable its computer scan and optimization processes from time to time. You may find this tool useful mainly when you run several programs at once and you want to see, in real time, which of them is taking up most of your system’s memory. Unfortunately, the tool runs only on Mavericks. Furthermore, I would have liked to see percentages within the generated report, not just numeric values.
