MachineProfile is a program designed to offer you technical details regarding the Mac you're using. This application might prove to be of good use whenever you need help with the hardware profile of your Mac for assistance in solving a troubleshooting issue.
As soon as you launch this utility you have access to info about the Mac model you're working on, like model type and identifier, processor name and speed, total number of available cores, and many others. I like the fact that the program allows you to export the technical data to RTF of PDF files in case you need to forward the system details to other users.
Another good aspect about this application is that it also informs you which is the maximum OS X version supported by your Mac.
Unfortunately, this application fails to provide you with some additional info about your system. For instance, the program doesn't offer you details regarding network connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Modem, etc.), available storage, acoustical performance, etc.
Nevertheless, I'd say it's worth installing this utility on your Mac if you're happy with the amount of info it is offering. The application is simple to use, lets you export the hardware profile, and is free of charge.

Love it: I use it to display the most essential status of a variety of makes and don't have to explain to customers how to do it or what it means.
