Learn to Draw is a nice application that can help you to learn how to draw. The application includes a series of lessons with different drawings that are divided by level of difficulty. The first three lessons include linear and geometrical drawings of common things like animals, fruits, trees, etc.; while the two last lessons offer shades and more sophisticated effects. The trial will only allow you see the tutorial of the first lessons, and you will have to register the program if you want to see the rest.
Every lesson offers a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a specific object, which is especially handy for 3D effects, the most difficult part for kids. The instructions are given in a sort of bubble dialog and there is an example of what you have to do. The window is divided in two panes, so you can practice the drawing as it is being explained in the bottom part. To advance the instructions, you have to click on "Next page" and new instructions will be given. The drawing tools given vary according to the drawing, but for the simple drawings you will be able to pick a pen, a line, or an oval. Unfortunately, if you make a mistake in the drawing you will have to clear everything and start from scratch since there's no eraser. Once you finish, you can save the drawing or print it. The user interface is very easy to use for kids, but it isn't very attractive.
