This teaching application was designed for Mac users who wish to learn about the human brain using their computers. The program is packed with high-quality MRI images, provides you with 3D brain models which you can rotate according to your needs, and brings you plenty of information regarding the areas from the human brain.
You can switch from 2D view (Volume View Mode) to 3D orthographic mode, change the display angle, and configure the rendering quality settings to match your requirements. All you need to do in order to check the info regarding a region from the brain is to hold down the Command button and click over the area you wish to learn about.
The program lets you copy the offered information to Clipboard, save snapshots of the MRI photos to Desktop, and consult with the user guide whenever it's necessary.
The only thing I don't like about BrainVoyager Brain Tutor is the fact that it doesn't allow me to export MRI images to other formats than BMP.
As for the rest, BrainVoyager Brain Tutor proves to be a smart addition to any med student's collection of programs. The application brings an intuitive interface, provides you with various brain model display modes, and comes without a price tag.
