Info updated on:

Developed by Laurent Cozic, Joplin is an open source application for MacOS that individuals can use to handle a large number of notes and organize them into notebooks. The notes can then be searched, modified, tagged, or synced with popular cloud providers like Dropbox, OneDrive, Nextcloud, or WebDAV.

The app's interface has well-delimited panels, but the icons miss a bit of color, which makes them difficult to locate, at least for the first use. Also at times, when switching tabs, the navigation can become laggy.

The embedded features are numerous and cover a wide range of functionalities. The app supports the export of JEX and RAW files, as well as the import of ENEX and Markdown files.

Users are able to set up alarms, or sort notes by different criteria, such as title or updated time. Moreover, there is a Search function, Geo-location support, and even an external editor that can be used to edit notes.

To conclude, Joplin is a nicely-crafted app that integrates lots of useful features, which allow users to easily manage their favorite notes.
