Identical is a simple program that helps you find out if any two selected files within your Mac are similar or not.
When you launch this application, a new icon is added to your Menu Bar. All you need to do to work with this tool is to drag-and-drop the files you wish to compare over the app's icon and wait for the results. If the app finds any differences between the two files, it shows an X over its icon; if not, it displays a checked symbol.
Unlike some similar applications, Identical doesn't display the dissimilarities between the two compared files. This program only lets you know if the documents are similar.
A good aspect about this Mac utility is the fact that it doesn't take too long to process the input documents and offer you the results.
Even though this program comes without a price tag, I still wouldn't recommend this application as it doesn't display the differences between non-identical documents. But if you only wish to know if two files are similar or not and that's it, this tool can definitely offer you the help you need.
