Identical 1.1

Identical is a Mac program that provides you with a quick and simple way to check if two of your files are similar or not. The application lives on your Menu Bar where you need to drag the files you wish to analyze and check if they're identical within moments.

The files that you wish to examine need to be dragged and dropped one at a time over the program's icon from the status bar. The utility first checks their file size. If it's the same file size, the application starts comparing the two files using the SHA-1 cryptographic hash function. You can get two types of results showing the following messages: "Files are identical" or "Files are different".

However, you should try another Mac program if you're looking for an application that also lets you know which are the differences between your files.

I tested the application using various types of file formats (images, text formats, etc.). Every test offered me accurate results.

To sum things up, Identical is a simple and efficient Mac utility that lets you know if two of your files are similar or not. In my opinion, you should give it a try, test it to see how it works, and then decide if you should try a different tool or this is the app for you.
