Fragment 1.5

Fragment is a helpful program that comes as an alternative to viewing images with Mac's Preview app (default image viewer).

This application also provides you with a very simple way to crop your favorite pictures as well as rotate them at any desired angle, send the ones you no longer require to Trash, and much more.

Different from Mac Preview app, Fragment supports additional image formats like CUT, DDS, EXR, G3, IFF, JNG, and many others. I like the fact that you can select which file formats should be opened with this program by default.

Another good aspect about this application is that you can share your pictures with friends from Facebook directly from Fragment's interface. You can also write a comment to the selected photo and select which album to upload it in.

However, the app lacks some features that can be found within Mac's Preview tool. For instance, you can't adjust the size of your photos (file compression), annotate images or display pictures within a folder as slideshow. Still, on the homepage of the developer it's clearly stated what this app can do and in my testing it completed the tasks without any issues.

As a conclusion, Fragment proves to be a reliable solution when it comes to previewing images on your computer. The application is very simple to handle, works with various image formats, and comes without a price tag.
