EasyMoney is a personal finances management tool for the Mac. It is a simple app but it can be useful if used right. I constantly forget how much money I have, at the bank and at home, how much is owed to me and how much I owe. EasyMoney can solve my problem by presenting a clear overview of all my expenditures and all my revenue.
In this app, you start managing your finances by adding a ledger, which works exactly as a regular ledger would. The ledger can contain different accounts. These accounts are of two types: revenue or expenses. For each account, you can make new transactions. What you see in the main window is a list of all the accounts on the ledger, followed by individual transactions at the bottom of the screen. There is space for about 10 transactions on the screen, but you can scroll down or use the search field to find more transactions. It is useful if you add a name or description to the transactions so you can better find them later. When you add one, you can specify the amount of the transaction, the date, and even set a repeat date. After you have completed adding your accounts and transactions, you can access a summary and charts that provide a better visualization of the state of your ledger.
EasyMoney is a nice-looking personal finances app and it is useful too. I have seen more complete apps out there, with support for receipt scanning, notifications, and more. The lack of those features doesn't mean the app is bad, it is just not the most complete utility out there.
