Dropzone is an excellent productivity tool for the Mac. It gives you a drag-and-drop area that you can put into your dock. From there, you can launch applications, share files, open files, etc. Dropzone is highly customizable; you can download new actions from the web or create and share your own.
The way Dropzone works is simple, yet it gives a lot of power about how you work on your Mac. When you click on the Dropzone icon, you will see a grid of icons pop-up instantaneously. Those are your "actions". You can drag files inside that grid and onto your actions to carry them out with the file that you dragged. So, for example, if you have an action that is set to launch Photoshop, you can simply drag an image file to it, and Photoshop will be launched and the image file will be automatically opened.
Another interesting feature that Dropzone mastered is App installation. If you drag a DMG file onto the Install App action, the DMG image will be opened, the app inside it will be copied to the Applications folder and after that is done, the DMG will be put in the Trash for you. That is the way App installation should work in Mac.
There are many custom actions that you can install from the Dropzone website. I particularly like the Dropbox one, which allows you to share files by dragging them to the Dropzone and the URL will be copied to the clipboard.
