DropSpace is a simple and unobtrusive utility that will help you more easily move files and folders from one place to another. It acts as an intermediary clipboard and is very useful on small screens.

DropSpace supports any type of file, folder, or application on your computer. You can use DropSpace in three ways. First, you can click on the app's icon in the status bar or you can use the system wide shortcut (Command Shift S) to bring up the window. Once the window is visible, you can drop stuff on it. You can also drop things on the dock even if the window is not open. Finally, you can copy files normally from anywhere with Command-C and paste them into the drop space window with Command-V.

Once you have files in DropSpace, you can simply drag and drop the files wherever you'd like: a folder in your Finder, directly into iPhoto, or into a Word document. Please keep in mind that your original files will always be moved when you drag them out of the drop space. If you would like to keep your original files where they are, enable Copy Mode in the settings button at the bottom of the window. This will copy your files to a temporary location when you drag into DropSpace. Please note that if you are dropping large files, it may take a while for them to be copied when Copy Mode is enabled.
