Deckset allows you to create presentations without worrying about styles and fonts too much. In this regard, the application uses markdown text as a source of contents for your slides, which it makes more appealing by applying the selected theme. The application has an easy-to-use interface and comes with a comprehensive help document. The main difficulty would be learning the markdown code you should use to format the text and add other elements.

It is good that the tool comes with eight built-in themes, which are rather attractive. In addition, you can switch to your favorite color combination and even customize a theme and save it as a new one. Besides, it has various modes, such as Play, Rehearse and Preview, which you can pick according to your purpose. Similarly, it is possible to switch between Multiple-slide to Single-slide view.

Since the application uses markdown syntax to create the slides, you need to choose your favorite third-party plain-text editor, because there is no such built-in tool. Besides, you cannot edit text from within the application, which may disappoint a few users. Fortunately, Deckset supports live preview, which means that any change you make in the underlying text is updated in the app immediately after you save it.

It is good that the application helps you create appropriate markdown code for inserting external objects, such as videos and images. In this respect, you should only drag and drop the desired file onto the tool’s interface in order to create the markdown text, which is also automatically copied onto the clipboard. However, it has some limitations as to positioning images and videos. It is also a shame that it does not support transitions.

Finally, when you are done creating your presentation, it is automatically saved in the plain-text document. Besides, it is also allowed to export it to other formats, including PDF, PNG and JPG.

To conclude, Deckset lets you focus on what you want to say instead of how to create your presentation. Thus, it is excellent for creating quick presentations, for instance, to support some ideas. However, it may not meet the demands of other users who would prefer to have more control over the form. This product is fortunately free to try, so grab this opportunity!
