Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Masque of the Red Death Collector's Edition is a puzzle game for Mac filled with real mystery and dozens of challenging riddles. You play as a detective who (alongside his partner) investigates the city officials murders from a French town.
The thing that differentiates this puzzle game from others of this kind is that you get to decide by your own who is the villain: a greedy mayor or a masked man who is rumored to be responsible for all the city officials murder. You are able to colect all the evidence and use a scale of justice at the end according to your beliefs and judgement.
During the game you interact with various characters (for example, a poor lady who tells you that the masked man isn't an evil person but the mayor is), collect clues as you explore new locations, and solve plenty of riddles. An advantage is that the app is filled with many types of puzzles (hidden object, cook following instructions, etc.) so there's a very small chance you'll get bored by playing this game.
Another thing I like about this game is the fact that you can always change the difficulty level (by accessing the main menu and going to Options). Plus, you have access to many useful hints and a built-in strategy guide.
Briefly, Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe's The Masque of the Red Death Collector's Edition is an addictive puzzle game. So, I'd say it's definitely worth buying it.
