Cut the Rope is one of the best arcade games that are available for the Mac. In this game, you have to use your mouse or trackpad to cut ropes to collect stars and feed Om Nom. At the beginning of the game, you see a cut-scene in which a box is delivered to your house with Om Nom inside it. This box represents the first level. There are currently 11 different levels and new ones are added frequently. Each level or box contains a variety of sub-levels. The first few sub-levels are usually easy and as you progress through the game, the puzzles get more and more challenging.
The puzzles start with all the ropes connected to the candy that you have to feed On Nom, who waits at the bottom of the screen. You have to cut the ropes so that you get to collect all the stars in each sub-level. When you cut one rope, the candy will start moving, and you have to time it just right to cut the second rope, and so on. The game sounds easy, but it can get really challenging, especially when you don't have too much time to cut the ropes.
I played Cut the Rope with my mouse, and I was able to play it just fine. Of course, if you own an iPad, the game will be more fun on it because you get to use your fingers to cut the ropes, but the Mac version is excellent as well.
