Choco is a graphics creation tool that lets you create collages on your Mac. The first thing that I noticed when I ran this application for the first time is its graphical user interface.

Everything looks exquisitely designed and a lot of attention was put into making the interface easy to use. Thus, you will see arrows that tell you what certain buttons do, and the steps that you need to follow to create a collage. The app comes with more than a hundred pre-built templates. When using one of those, you simply can load your pictures and put them into the available spaces, and the app will take care of the rest. Some of the templates even apply effects to your images. For example, the B&W Nine template turns your photos into black and white. What is great about this app is that you can also create your own templates. You start by scratch and can choose a color, texture or even image for the background, you can choose where the spaces for your images are located and can even generate them automatically.

To add the images to the collages, you can either drag them into the spaces where you want them or, alternatively, click on the "Shuffle", which will do this randomly. If there are more spaces than images, your photos will be repeated. In my testing, for some weird reason, I was unable to drag the photos manually, but the "Shuffle" button did work. Once added to the spaces, I could drag them without any problems.

Pros

  • Very easy to use
  • A good number of templates
  • It lets you make your own templates

Cons
