It may have a steep learning curve for those who have never used CAD tools. However, it is quite likely that experienced users find it quite intuitive, since its interface layout resembles those of other similar applications. In this regard, there is the usual canvas with the toolbar on the left and the object properties on the right. Luckily, there is also help documentation to find answers to your questions.

When you start a project, you first need to set the desired scale as well as the system of units you intend to use, Metric or Imperial. Besides, it is possible to start from a template. Still, it comes with no built-in templates; so, you need to create them yourself instead.

The application supports drawing practically any kind of object. In this respect, there are tools for lines, ellipses, text and curves, for instance. Additionally, even though there is a set of built-in symbols, you can easily import more from external libraries.

One of the advantages of CADintosh X is that it may the drawing of complex projects less troublesome by allowing to use layers and groups. In this respect, it supports the amazing number of up to 1,024 layers. Similarly, you can create up to 32,000 groups.
