Billiards is a Mac application that enables you to play 9-Ball, 8-Ball, Straight, 3-Balls and Snooker match on your Mac. It features detailed gameplay instructions, a fitting background music, and allows you to challenge your friends to play a quick online match.
The app's graphics are quite simple, but the physics are realistic. You can resize the main screen to any resolution you like by simply dragging the corners of the interface. The background music goes well with the gameplay, but it can be disabled if needed. The same thing goes for the sound effects.
I tested all game modes. They were all OK even though I wasn't able to complete any match. The trial version of the game lets you play a couple of moments and then takes you to the About screen.
Two things bother me about this app: you cannot alter game settings without losing the progress of the ongoing match and the fact that it lacks camera view options (for instance, to adjust view angle).
Still, Billiards comes with a reasonable price and might come in handy while you're on a break from your work. So, it's up to you to decide if it's worth buying it for you Mac or look for another pool simulation game.
