Backgammon Deluxe is a computer version of this old board game. The game of Backgammon is one of the oldest two-player games. There are 24 narrow triangles on the board, called points. Each player starts with 15 checkers of their color (red or black). The objective of the game is to move all your checkers to your home board and then bear them off. To start the game, you roll the dice. The player who gets a bigger number plays first, and the roll of the dice also determines the number of points that a checker can move.
To be honest, I didn't know how to play Backgammon before downloading this game. There is a very complete instructions page that thoroughly describes the game and how to play it. I like this about EnsenaSoft's games. They are all very well designed and they all come with help.
From the options menu, you can enable move assistance and the doubling cube, which is another way in which the game can get more challenging. You can also set the difficulty of the CPU player. There are three available options: easy, medium and hard.
In conclusion, Backgammon Deluxe is a nice game that is relatively easy to play and it looks very good. There is a free version that you can download to test the game before deciding whether to buy it.
