AutoMounter is intended to automatically mount network shares on your system. The tool supports various protocols, including SMB, AFP and WebDAV. Likewise, FTP is allowed in read-only mode. Fortunately, there is an online user guide to provide answers to common questions.
The app is very unobtrusive as it runs from the Menu Bar, and once configured, you hardly need to interact with it. In this respect, it is excellent that there is a configuration assistant that detects currently mounted drives and lets you add them to your list without much difficulty. Luckily, you can configure as many servers and shares as you need.
When you configure a share, you can specify some options, like mounting a share as read-only, hiding it from Finder, or using guest credentials. Likewise, it is very convenient that the tool lets you create a set of rules that determine whether a share is mounted or not. This way you can decide not to mount a given share when your computer is not connected to mains, just to provide an example.
In addition to the options just mentioned, there are others that are classified as Pro. In this respect, it is possible to automate some processes and thus save some time and effort. For instance, you can trigger some actions when a successful mount event takes place, which include automatically opening specific apps or files as well as running the desired scripts. more
