AppShelf is an application license manager for Mac OS X. It allows you to store all your serial keys in a single location, so that you don't have to look through thousands of e-mails every time you have to enter a serial number.

The application scans the entirety of your disk to find apps, preference panes, widgets, and plug-ins. You can then import any of those to the "default" folder to start adding information about the apps' licences. You can of course create new folders and rename the default one to better organize your license information.

Once you have added a few apps to the list with all their licensing information, you can either browse them on a list or use the spotlight icon system; the same one used in Finder.

In my testing, I found that AppShelf works like a charm. It is really easy to add applications onto your list, and, in my case, AppShelf even found apps that I use under Windows with Parallels.

One important feature that I think this application is missing is security. There is no way to password-protect your database that I can see. I wouldn't want anyone to simply be able to open the application and steal all my expensive software.
