Amnesia: The Dark Descent 1.2

Amnesia is an app that allows you to completely uninstall other apps. Mac OS X makes uninstalling apps a very easy task.

You simply drag-and-drop them to the Trash and they are gone. Or so you'd think. Most of the times, components of the apps that you uninstall remain hidden in your system. That is where Amnesia and other apps like it come in.

Amnesia has a few different modes that allow you to do different things. By default, the first mode that you see allows you to drag-and-drop an app to the interface. When you do this, Amnesia will find all the files that were installed with that application. Then you can simply uninstall them all, or create a backup file with those files.

The second mode, named "Applications" lists all the files in your Applications folder. It will not only list APP files, but all the related files. When I carried out a scan using this mode, I got 900 results, and I only have 100 or so applications. That tells you how much junk each of those apps install. I didn't have any problems deleting apps with Amnesia. The app was very responsive at all times and I have to say that I really like the interface.
