Amazing Effects 1.0

Amazing Effects is a photo editing tool for the Mac. It allows you to add various effects to your photos in an easy way.

When you first launch the application and load a picture, it will be placed on the right side of the window. To the left there is a very small toolbar that gives you an access to all of the effects available, as well as to the load and save options. The effect categories are Art, Glass, Color Filter, Old Photo, Light, Scenery, Rainbow, Ghost Sketch, Fog, Gray & Color, and Yellow Pattern. When you click on a category, a new window will pop-up, which will show snapshots of what the effects will look like applied to your photos. The snapshots are a bit small, though, and I had to apply the effects to the picture to see them. You apply an effect by simply clicking on one of the snapshots.

All the effects are nice, and they are applied instantly. Some of the "Scenery" effects put your photos in the middle of a forest or filled with plants, and these effects look good. Some other effects put you in the middle of a sunset or sunrise. Unfortunately, you seem to only be able to apply one effect at the time.

In short, this is a nice app that lets you have fun by applying effects to your photos. The effects can't be customized and they look good. More professional tools available today will cost money, so it is nice to see that this app is free.
