Aiseesoft HD Converter for Mac can be used to convert your HD video files. They can be converted to other high definition formats or even to standard definition formats.
There are a number of features that I think an HD converter should have, but this one lacks. The GPU acceleration, for example. Without GPU acceleration conversion of HD files can take ages. I know most Macs don't have integrated GPUs, but it would be nice for users of Macs that do have them to be able to use them to speed up the process. When I think about HD formats, the first one that comes to mind is MKV. It is supported in this application, but none of its advanced options are available. For example, you can't add subtitle or audio tracks to your MKV file. And if you are converting an MKV file to another format, and the original file did have multiple audio or subtitle tracks, you will only be able to choose a single audio track and no subtitles. This feature does work well with M2TS files, though.
In short, Aiseesoft HD Converter for Mac works like a charm, and it has great format support. It just doesn't have any feature that was specifically implemented for the conversion of HD files, other than a long list of HD conversion profiles.
