Atmel studio social advice

AVRFuses is a simple fuse programmer for the AVR series of microcontrollers from Atmel. It is written to mimic the look, feel and utility of the AVR Studio fuse programmer. The primary useful feature of AVRFuses is that it lets you intelligently select which fuses to set just like in AVRStudio.

AVR Tools provides a Mac OS X GUI for avrdude. The program also includes a terminal emulator which can be used to talk to serial ports, such as the spare RS-232 port on the Atmel STK500 Development board. The terminal emulator can be run stand-alone, without connecting AVR Tools to any development board.

AVR Builder is a complete tool chain to allow Mac OS X users to build programs designed for the AVR family of micro controllers. Also included is a boot loader to send your program over to the MCU. Avrdude is included but the makefile does not have a target to load the program via this method.

The LPCXpresso IDE is a highly integrated software development environment for NXP's LPC microcontrollers that includes all the tools necessary to develop high-quality software solutions in a timely and cost effective fashion. LPCXpresso is based on Eclipse and has many enhancements to simplify development with NXP LPC microcontrollers.
