4Videosoft Video Converter Ultimate for Mac is a commercial video converter. It is the most complete video conversion tool offered by 4Videosoft.

It includes both a video converter and a DVD ripper, all in a single application. There is also a nice video editor that allows you to trim and crop your videos, adjust their contrast, saturation and brightness and even add watermarks to them.

Format support is very good in this converter. You can open most modern video and audio files and convert them into a variety of other formats. I won't list them all, because there are a lot of formats, but these are some of the most popular ones that are supported by this converter: MPEG-4, H.264, MOV, MKV, 3GP, AVI, DivX, and XviD. There are conversion profiles available for a ton of different devices, including Apple devices, mobile phones, video game consoles and other devices. I like that there is a whole conversion profile category for HD formats.

In terms of performance, 4Videosoft Video Converter Ultimate for Mac does not disappoint. I tested it with a 720p MKV file and I thought the application converted it very fast. There is no GPU acceleration, though.

One thing that this app and all the other converters I tried by 4Videosoft are missing is support for subtitles. Although there is a drop-down menu that reads subtitles, it doesn't work. Subtitles never are displayed and you can't choose which subtitle track to use.
