Xilisoft Apple TV Video Converter is a commercial video converter. It can be used to convert video files so that you can play them on the AppleTV.

The app has very good input format support, which means that it will probably open any file you throw at it without problems. Output format support is limited to MPEG-4, H.264, MOV, and FLV for video, and AAC, AIFF, M4A, MP3 and WAV. There are two H.264 conversion profiles for the AppleTV, and one of them is for HD content, specifically 720p content. The only difference between the two is the resolution.

Graphically, the app looks like most other Xilisoft converters out there. It has a clean and intuitive interface with a video player, some space for your conversion queue and the conversion profiles and formats on a drop-down menu at the bottom of the screen.

Sadly, there are no video editing features included in this app. You can't trim, crop, merge or add effects to your videos. Also, there is no support for subtitles. So if you have a video file with a subtitle track (for example, an MKV file), you won't be able to rip those subs.

In terms of performance, Xilisoft Apple TV Video Converter works well and it is on par with other solutions in terms of speed and conversion quality. At $35.95, it is a bit pricey, and you probably can find better alternatives out there.
