Visual LightBox is an application for Mac OS X and Windows users who have no graphic design experience and require a simple solution for creating web galleries. This program provides you with numerous project templates, allows you to import pictures from various sources (local folders, Picasa or Flickr account), and offers you quality results within moments.
After you select the images you wish to include in your gallery, the application lets you choose from various thumbnail templates (once the project is published, the pictures appear on the webpage as thumbnails) and allows you to configure their settings accordingly. You can select the preferred thumbnail resolution, format (JPEG or PNG), etc.
The utility also features a wide variety of stunning gallery templates. You can preview these samples, choose the proper image resolution, and enable Preserve Aspect Ratio option if necessary.
A good thing is that you can personalize the created galleries by attaching a watermark (text or image) to all included pictures. This way, you can prevent other users from sharing your photo presentations as their own work.
My only issue with this app is that it supports a small amount of image formats. For instance, you cannot select SVG, PSD or DNG files as input images.
To summarize, Visual LightBox proves to be a reliable and affordable solution for any Mac user who wants to create and publish photo galleries on the Web. The program brings you a very intuitive interface, immediately creates the Web galleries you require, and allows for doing many more things.
