Info updated on:

TrailRunner mini is a Mac utility that provides users the means to plan their traveling, running or biking routes. The app can easily be downloaded and installed, either from the Mac Store or the official website.

It comes with a standard user interface, with well-delimited sections and nicely crafted toolbar icons. The background has a black color, however, there are no other skin themes available. The text size could've been a bit bigger, but overall there are very few inconveniences regarding the interface.

Once you start actually using the app, you discover its multiple integrated features. You can import GPX, KML, Garmin, and TCX files from your GPS device, iCloud drive or iPhone, view mile markers along the course of a route, or select and inspect parts of a track to learn its profile. Moreover, as a user, you are able to create and manage routes for the planned activity, while also being able to export them to your iPhone. Also, the app can calculate the calories burned and automatically download elevation data.

To summarize, TrailRunner mini is an important application for organizing routes. The price would be acceptable if it weren't for the stability issues and the heavy maps loading. Still, feel free to try it yourself.
