Time Machine, a default Mac application, has its backup interval preset to one hour. TimeMachineScheduler is a program that deactivates the aforementioned automatic backup function and allows you to set your own time intervals for making a copy of your files.

Its interface is very intuitive and filled with various useful instructions. Before using the application you need to install an extra tool called Scheduler. It takes a few moments to install this utility and you don't need to restart the TimeMachineScheduler app to apply the new changes.

A slider will let you set the time interval for the Time Machine backups (from 1 to 12 hours). Unfortunately, the application doesn't let you type the interval values. So, you won't be able to enter values like 1:30 hours.

An important advantage is that you can disable backups for a certain amount of time (for example, from 1AM to 4AM). Also, you can run various AppleScripts once the backup is complete.

All in all, TimeMachineScheduler is a helpful Mac program that works flawlessly and might prove to be of good use. In addition, it's free. So, you have nothing to lose if you decide to give it a try on your Mac.
