Info updated on:

A compact Mac OS X application that adds three buttons to your menubar to control iTunes: previous track, next track, and play/pause. It also provides visual feedback on the currently playing song, including the album cover. Easily skip songs using keyboard shortcuts or mouse controls, without the need to switch to iTunes or open its Dock menu.

Synergy is a lightweight Mac application that allows you to easily control your music while working on your computer. With the help of this piece of software you won't have to pause your daily work, switch to iTunes and pause, play or jump to another track or playlist. You can easily do that directly from your Menu Bar.

In order to launch Synergy you will have to access its well-organized "Preferences" menu. From there, besides setting to display the controls on the menu bar, you can fully customize this application with very little effort. You can choose how and what the floater will display, set any desired global hot keys for a large variety of functions, customize the menu bar controls or you can allow Synergy to search on Amazon for album covers. You can even send track information updates to Audioscrobbler in a simple manner.

Synergy also integrates with Growl (if you have it installed). This way, you will have a better view of all the changes that will occur while changing your songs or playlists in iTunes. more
