Super PhotoCut is intended to facilitate removing the background in pictures. In this respect, the app can differentiate the selected object from its background without much effort on your part. However, this does not mean that it is impossible to refine your selection if something does not turn out as planned.
The tool has a user-friendly interface, which gives you the possibility of instantly previewing results while you work. Luckily, there is plenty of documentation to teach you the basic steps, including tutorials.
The app lets you work with a single photograph at a time, which is no problem, since this kind of processing is unlikely to be carried out in batches. Good to know that it supports importing the most widely used picture formats, such as JPG, PNG, BMP and GIF.
The workflow is straightforward and includes a series of operations. In this regard, there is a gross initial cutout, which you can do by simply drawing a rectangle around the object you wish to retain. Next, you can use the marker tools to correct any possible imperfections. Additionally, it is possible to choose a type of background as well as a transition effect. Luckily, the final results can be further customized.
All in all, Super PhotoCut works quite well, even when there is not a very clear distinction between the foreground and the background of the intended photograph. It is evident that it carries powerful processing algorithms "under the hood". There are two versions of this product: Standard and Pro. The standard version, being reviewed here, has limitations in terms of working with semitransparent objects. Good news is that both versions are available for free trials from the developer's website.
