Shady 1.0

Shady is a system utility that lets you adjust your Mac's brightness. In certain occasions, looking at your Mac's monitor can be uncomfortable, especially in low-light conditions.

If you have a Macbook Pro or Air, you can adjust your brightness using the brightness keys on your keyboard, but users of the Mac Mini don't have it that easy. Shady does a great job of letting you do that from the menubar, or by using the arrow keys on your keyboard. When the application is the frontmost application (after you clicked on it), it will enable the arrow keys to control the brightness. Another way to adjust it is via the menu that pops up when you click on the menubar icon. From there, you can also enable or disable Shady.

From the Preferences window, you can choose whether or not you want to display a Dock icon when Shady is running. This is useful if you want to use the arrow keys to adjust your Mac's brightness. Without the Dock icon it is hard to make Shady the active application.
