Info updated on:

RsyncOSX is a graphical user interface that facilitates using the Rsync tool, which would otherwise have to be used from the command line. Thus, this application can be used to back up data both on your local computer and on a remote location. The interface has been carefully designed. In this respect, its multiple tabs allow accessing the required feature, such as executing a backup as well as adding and scheduling sync tasks.

Just like other similar tools, RsyncOSX requires setting a source and a target location for each task. Since it only supports creating an exact backup of the source folder, you should be aware that, as a result of the synchronization, all files on the target folder are erased and new copies of the source files are created. Fortunately, the tasks can be run at any time without needing to reconfigure them. Besides, it is possible to run a batch of simultaneous tasks. What is more, you can automate the whole process by scheduling the execution of selected tasks.

To conclude, if you find using RSync from the command line is too difficult or troublesome, I think you will appreciate a tool like RsyncOSX is available. However, it is a shame that not all Rsync options are supported. Fortunately, the product is free to use.
