PDFpen is a Mac utility designed to help you edit your PDF files and scanned documents, convert or print PDFs with ease, etc. The application is very intuitive, requires minimum computer experience, comes with built-in OCR technology, and offers you quality results.

You can import PDF document from your local directories or a file from any scanner that's being connected to your Mac. The app will immediately display the loaded file and you can start adding new content, deleting paragraphs, making annotations, and so on.

PDFpen also comes with an integrated search utility which might come in handy if you want to easily find and replace certain words within the imported document. You can find a wide variety of editing options in the Tools panel of the app. Any modification you make to the PDF file can be reversed with just a push of a button.

Once you finish editing the imported file, you can export it to various formats, like DOCX, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and flattened PDF. The app also provides you with a quick way to share the document via email, send it to your Evernote account or print the file.

The Pro edition of this program gives you access to more features. However, it's more expensive than this standard version.

Another thing you need to take into consideration is that you can find cheaper solutions for editing PDFs, some of them are even free of charge. Only a few of these apps come with built-in OCR technology, but they work OK and offer you many advantages. It's up to you to decide if it's worth buying PDFpen for your Mac or not.
