Info updated on:

OpenDrive is a client application that helps you synchronize your files on the cloud. It specifically supports OpenDrive cloud storage services. So, it is necessary to have the corresponding account, which you can create directly from the tool. The main application is very simple to use. In fact, as it appears as another drive in Finder, you can easily navigate the folders you have created in your online space. It supports common operations, like dragging and dropping files from one location to another.

There is also the Sync and Backup Manager, which helps you perform complex automated operations. This tool takes the form of a wizard, so it is actually very easy to set up various types of synchronization and backup tasks. A synchronization task is intended to mirror contents on both the local and the cloud drive. In the case of the backups, only incremental backups are supported. In both cases, you can select the files you want to backup or sync. In this respect, you can use both inclusion and exclusion filters based on file types. Luckily, tasks can be scheduled to happen at a given frequency. Likewise, you can receive notifications via email about the execution of the scheduled tasks.

All in all, this client app allows taking advantage of such OpenDrive services as automated backups and synchronization. Regrettably, the tool does not support OpenDrive Tasks, a service intended for collaborating on projects. However, you still have the opportunity to do that from their web interface instead. Fortunately, there is a free personal plan that provides access to basic services, but in case you need more, like creating a zero-knowledge encrypted folder, it is necessary to purchase one of the premium accounts: business and enterprise.
