I also get the error saying the printer is not found when trying to use the Newsoft CD Labeler program. I have updated to driver and re-downloaded everything. Is it even compatible with High Sierra? If not is there another option out there?
According to the information I've found on the Brother's website, the latest version of NewSoft CD Labeler posted and available for download is compatible with OSX 10.8 or LATER. "Later" means that it should work with the latest version of OSX as well, but it's not guaranteed.
Try downloading the application they recommend to see if it installs and works properly, because you might have an old version that's incompatible with the latest OSX iterations.
I just installed a Brother printer MFC-J870DW. I also installed NewSoft CD Labeler. When I start the program, I get the following message 'A Brother printer could not be found'. I assume it is because you have not added the support for MFC-J870DW. If this is the case, when can we expect the support in Macintosh? The NewSoft CD Labeler I installed is 1.20.00.
Please install the drivers of the printer for your Macintosh. You can download the drivers from the Brother Support website. After the drivers are installed, the printer will be available for printing operations.
