MyDVD Pro is intended to help you create your own DVD discs, including navigation menus. This tool has the advantage of automatically performing the necessary transcoding, which saves you from deciding what video format to use for your DVD player.

The application’s interface responds to its intended workflow, which is composed of three main steps: importing footage, customizing menus and burning to disc. In this regard, good news is that the tool integrates with Final Cut Pro seamlessly, which lets you export not only video contents but also chapter markers. Likewise, you can import clips by dragging and dropping their files onto the application’s window. It is a shame, though, that other videos sources, like disc image files, the screen or a camera, are not supported.

The best part of using MyDVD Pro is that there is an extensive collection of themed templates at your disposal. However, this does not mean you are not free to customize the different elements, including submenus, chapters, backgrounds and soundtracks. Once you are done, you can take advantage of the WYSIWYG menu editor to preview what it will look like. Finally, you can decide on the type of disc you want to burn (DVD, AVCHD or BD). Yet, that is not all, it is also allowed to save the content to a disc image file (ISO).

All in all, MyDVD Pro can create video discs with beautiful menus. In this respect, both standard and high definition video output is supported. The product is available from the Mac App Store and it requires acquiring the Blu-ray plug-in and additional templates separately as in-app purchases.
