Magic Hider can help you hide sensitive parts of an image, mainly those that may affect someone’s privacy, such as faces and names. The application is extremely easy to use, which is great as there is no help documentation available.
The tool’s interface is very simple. The largest part of its window is devoted to previewing the image you are modifying. Fortunately, it supports loading pictures via drag-and-drop operations as well as looking for them in Finder. It is also great that working with file batches is also supported. In this respect, there is a ribbon that allows browsing through the loaded pictures. There are also two checkboxes to enable automatically detecting faces and text. Moreover, you can select the desired image region manually. Likewise, you can also choose the type of filter to conceal the desired element from a list that includes Pixelate, Gaussian Blur, Crystallize, Pointillize, Box Blur and Hexagonal. Moreover, it is possible to adjust the intensity level. Fortunately, all the changes are previewed in real time.
All in all, Magic Hider can be useful when you need to protect private data. When tried, the tool effectively found and concealed text or faces. Unfortunately, even when using the lowest saving quality, the resulting images are significantly larger than the original ones. The product is available in the App Store at a reasonable price and can be tried at no cost.
